Powder Coating Quality Control – Water Break Free Test

This is the fifth video in a series on Powder Coating Quality Control Testing by S&B Finishing.

Water Break Free Test – ASTM F22-13

One of the next quality control tests performed at S&B Finishing is the Water Break Free Test ASTM F22-13.

The test will determine the cleanliness of parts about to be powder coated.

Water is sprayed upon the parts, if the water flows through the part uniformly, the part is ready for painting. If water droplets occur on the part, there is contamination, and the part is not ready for powder coating.

This test is performed after the washing process to make sure there is no contamination. This will make for a more effective application of the powder coating process.

Just another way S&B Finishing produces quality products for its customers!

Our next video will look at the Mil Thickness Measurement.
