Liquid Coatings
Liquid coats are a liquid paint finish that is electrostatically applied and then cured under heat. It can also be sprayed on and air dried. Liquid coatings have more color options and can sometimes result in a more aesthetically pleasing part.
There are different types of liquid coatings, such as:
- Baked enamel, which, among other characteristics, can be adjusted to improve the part’s performance in weather
- Polyurethane, which can have waterproofing capabilities
- Chemical agent resistant coatings, which can provide protection against chemical and biological warfare techniques, and can be easily decontaminated after exposure
Liquid coatings are also measured by characteristics such as hardness, flexibility, durability, protection abilities, and ease of application.
